Obituary for Steve Berton Claxon

Steve Claxon, 60, of Grayson, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. He was born February 15, 1961 in Grayson; a son of the late Berton and Magline Harlow Claxon.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Donald, and Clyde Claxon; four brothers-in-law, Arvis Riffe, Donald Withrow, Curtis Withrow, and Bobby D. Martin.

He was of the Christian faith and had attended the Glory Hill Community Church. He was a truck driver and had worked as a custodian in the Carter County School System.

He is survived by nine sisters, Alberta Claxon, Elizabeth Riffe, Tiney (Kenneth) Martin, Opal Withrow, Shelby Withrow, Nina (Clyde) Rogers, and Anna (Earl) Skaggs all of Grayson, Eula Martin of Argillite, and Kathy (Richard) Wofford of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Ronnie Claxon of Grayson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Tom Riffe, minister. Burial will follow in the Smith-Claxon Cemetery on Crane Creek.

Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Face coverings are required indoors.
