Obituary for Rosie Margaret Wilburn (Parsons)
Rosie Wilburn, 98, of Carter City, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 13, 1924, in Greenup County, KY; a daughter of the late David Crocket and Nora McGuire Parsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Roy Wilburn; six brothers, Grover, George, Fuller, Emmitt, Estill, and Everett; nine sisters, Pearlie Butler, Peachie Lee, Hazel Smith, Betty McGlone, Bertha Staggs, Alice Parsons, Evelyn Davis, Rhoda McCoy, and Faye Carper; a son-in-law, Roy Jordan; a great-great-grandson, Carson Wade Allen.
Rosie was a loyal servant of God and a member of the Carter Christian Holiness Church. She loved quilting and was a retired employee of Cowden's Manufacturing in Olive Hill, KY.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Wilburn of Grayson, KY, Randy (Effie) Wilburn of Smith Creek, KY, and Glade (Mary) Wilburn of Carter City, KY; three daughters, Lorene Jordan of Vanceburg, KY, Loretta (Coleman) McClurg of Carter City, KY and Brenda Sue (Billy) Edwards of Williamstown, KY; a sister, Rena Campbell of Ray, OH; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at the Carter Christian Holiness Church in Carter City, KY, Bill Burnett and, Jerry Jordan, ministers. Burial will follow in the Arms Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Gene Wilburn, W.A. Jordan, Dwayne Jordan, Ryan McClurg, Nicholas Wilburn, Kenny Cooper, and Corey Perkins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022, 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, and after 11:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
