Obituary for Robert Brent "Doc" Perry

Robert Brent “Doc” Perry, 65, of Ashland, KY passed away Sunday, February 14th, 2021 at King’s Daughters Medical Center after a brief illness.

Brent was born June 4, 1955 in Ashland and was the only son of the late Robert N. and Mary Lou Greene Perry.

In addition to his parents, Brent was preceded in death by his step-son, Kevin Crisp.

Brent was a 1973 graduate of Paul Blazer High School and the Ashland Vocational School Welding Program. He had a rewarding career as a boilermaker and member of Local 105 and longtime member of the Moose Lodge. Brent loved all things mechanical, particularly cars and motorcycles.

Brent earned his nickname, “Doc”, because he could fix cars and Harleys when others had given up. He was artistic and creative and had a vast knowledge of many topics and an incredible memory. Brent was a kind and sensitive man with a terrific sense of humor and ability to tell engaging stories. He delighted youngsters by demonstrating card tricks, making yarn puzzles and extolling the virtues of his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a thoughtful gift-giver, always searching for the perfect gift for those he loved. Brent was humble; he loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

Brent is survived by his wife, Trecia Burton Perry; his sister, Teresa Montague (Phillip) all of Ashland; niece, Sara Montague Miller (Alex) of Ocean Springs, MS; nephew, Dr. Alex Montague of Lexington, KY; great niece, Afton Rose Miller and great nephew, Jonas Nelson Miller of Ocean Spring, MS. Other little ones dear to Brent’s heart include, Max, Mia, Sebastian, Mia Grace, Ava and Lynnie.
