Letha Messer Carper
1931-2023
Letha Carper 91 of Carter City, KY passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Vanceburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vanceburg, KY. She was born August 22, 1931, in Carter County a daughter of the late Morton and Pearlie Justice Messer, in addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Carper; a daughter, Bonnie Blevins; five sisters and three brothers.
Letha was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Iron Hill Church of Christ and also attended the Carter Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, David (Rita)Carper, Wayne (Teresa) Carper and, Tim (Kathy) Carper all of Grayson, KY; two daughters, Patty (Stanley) Allen of Vanceburg, KY and, Freda (Wendell) Jones of Morehead, KY; a son-in-law, Darrell Blevins of Olive Hill, KY; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 3, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, KY Terrell Webb, minister. Burial will follow in the Horsley Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2023, 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be; Bill Allen, Sam Allen, Mike Blevins, Chad Blevins, Andy Carper, and Ray McGranahan.
