Laura Faye Connelly Boswell
1945-2021

Laura Faye Boswell, 75 of Beverly Hills, FL, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers in Crystal River, FL. She was born August 9, 1945, in Greenup County a daughter of Ruth Everman Connelly of Beverly Hills, FL formerly of Grayson and the late Carl Royal Connelly. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Boswell, and a daughter Christina Ketner.

Laura Faye was a member of the Citrus Missionary Baptist Church, a graduate of McKell High School, Morehead State University, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Sarasota where she received her doctorate in education. She had taught in the Carter County Schools, Lawton, and Prichard, and later as a professor of education at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. While at Marshall she taught young educators wanting to succeed in special education primarily working with autistic children.
She loved crafts and sewing and was known for her singing of hymns. She especially enjoyed the beach, finding sea turtles nests, and rescuing the young ones.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Everman Connelly of Beverly Hills, FL; a daughter, Corina Clay, of Hurdle Mills, NC; three sisters, Carlene Riner of Eagle Lake, FL, Verna K. Connelly of Grayson, and Vickie Hisman of Fayetteville, WV; two grandchildren, Donald Ray Thomas, and Leatisha Gay Hoermann; six great-grandchildren, Max, Ashlyn, Alyssa, Mike, Carter, and Brooklyn.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson., Pastor Troy Sheppard. Burial will follow at the Everman Cemetery on the AA Highway.

Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
