Obituary for Katie Roe (Moore)

Katie Moore Roe, 74, of Grayson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, February 7, 2021 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She was born April 3, 1946 in Grayson, KY to the late Watt and Bertha Hale Moore.

Katie was a member of the Wilson Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was the most beautiful, humble, kind, gentle person in this world. She loved the Lord, her family, her smile was always there, she never complained or had a cross word for anyone. She was the light and rock of the family. Heaven gained the sweetest soul that cannot be replaced. Words can never express what she meant to everyone who was blessed enough to haven known her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, David Moore, Harold Moore, Donald Moore, Clayton Moore, and Earl Moore; two sisters, Lillian Cox and Virginia Lee Moore.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Kenneth Earl Roe; a son, Randy (Nicki) Roe of Rush; a daughter, Robin (Jeff) Fite of Grayson; a brother, Glen (Tereasa) Moore of Flatwoods, KY; two grandsons, Trevor (Danielle) Roe, and Matthew Moore; a great-grandson, Raylyn Roe, a step granddaughter, Anna (Eddie Mullins) Fite; sister-in-laws, Esther Middleton, and Cheryl Roe; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends that will mourn her passing greatly.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Sparks Funeral Home, Rob Lockhart, minister. Burial will follow in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
