1951-2022
Kathy E. Claxon Wofford, 71, of Grayson, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.
She was born July 23, 1951 in Greenup County; a daughter of the late Burton and Magline Harlow Claxon.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, Donald, Clyde, and Richard Claxon.
Kathy was of the Christian Faith and a retired hair stylist. She had many things in life that brought her much joy, including working in her flower garden, having her toes in the sand, cooking, decorating, and spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by two sons, Woody (Rossi) Maddix of Grayson, KY; Charles (Ziad) Maddix of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Ronnie Claxon of Grayson; eight sisters, Eula Martin of Argillite, KY, Anna Dee (Earl) Skaggs, Tiny Martin, Nina (Clyde) Rogers, Alberta Claxon, Opal Withrow, Shelby Withrow, and Libby Riffe all of Grayson, KY; two grandchildren, Kelsey (Brandon) Berry, and Channing (Ashley) Maddix; three great-grandchildren, Liam Maddix, Kalen Maddix, and Branson Berry.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Tom Riffe, minister. Burial will follow in the Smith-Claxon Cemetery on Crane Creek in Greenup County.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
