Jack Baker
1919-2021

Jack Baker, 101, of Olive Hill, KY, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Veterans Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born November 15, 1919, in Carter County a son of the late Thomas and Nora Wicker Baker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Bailey Baker; a son, James Ray Baker: a daughter Greta Sue Baker, and nine brothers and sisters.
Jack was a carpenter with Ruth Brothers Construction, a member El Hasa Shrine and a fifty-year member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, his unit was involved in the D-Day invasion. He was awarded five bronze stars for his service. Most recently in, 2017, he was awarded the French Legion of Honor.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Collins of West Jefferson, OH; a sister, Betty Jonas of Florida; a grandson, Ryan (Natalia) Collins of Williamsburg, VA; four great-grandchildren, Isidora, Seraphinna, Macy, and Ivan

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Travis Duncan, minister. Burial will follow with military honors at the Biggs Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home.
