Obituary for Ike Rigsby

Isaac "Ike" Rigsby, 83, of Rush, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, KY. He was born January 12, 1939, in Rush, KY; a son of the late Cecil Harrison and Florence Alice Conley Rigsby.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Shawn Kenneth Rigsby; two sisters, Joyce Ingle, and Laura Geanette Travis.

Ike had a zest for life, his faith, and his family. A love for his children that none other will ever surpass! If you knew Ike he had either fixed something for you or told you how, his mechanical and engineering mind was admired by many. Ike had many loves in life, friends, family and his church being the most important to him. If you knew him, you knew you were loved.

Tinkering, laughter, jokes, and a love for family did not come to an end with his death. Ike passed away at the age of 83 after a long battle with his health. His admiration and passion for bringing a smile to a child inspired him to carry around candy and repurpose toys of all sorts.

Ike was an Army Veteran and was proud to serve our country. During his time, he found his ability to, do what he called "if it's broke, I can fix it". Nothing was ever broken to him. He would find a way to build a new piece or clean out an old one.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Ike. He loved cornbread, pie for breakfast, and sneaking to get it before everyone else woke up. He loved helping others. In the summer, you could find Ike tending to his tomato plants, his pole beans, and sharing his vegetables with the community. Ike had the uncanny ability to love those around him deeply. His love, zest for life, passion for fixing broken things, and taking joy in the simple things were contagious to everyone he met. Ike is preceded in death by his dear son Shawn, at which today is his birthday and we give them back to each other.

Ike is survived by his wife, Glenna; his daughter, Melissa; his grandchildren, Kena, Chase, and Isaac; and great-grandchildren, Emilia, Knox, Ellie, Hattie, and a legend of nieces and nephews.
