Obituary for Eva "Van" Haney

Eva “Van” Haney, 82, of Grayson, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. She was born November 19, 1939 in Boyd County, KY to the late Steele and Hattie Hensley Lawson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Amos R. Haney; two sisters, Lodema Alexander and Emmalcne Simpkins; three brothers, Jack Lawson, Steele Lawson, Jr, and Larry Paul Lawson; a son-in-law, Arvied Lowe.

Eva was a member of the Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church and had worked at the Elliott County Nursing and Rehab in housekeeping.

She is survived by her son, Barry David (Patty) Haney of Rush, KY; a daughter, Nancy Haney Lowe of Grayson, KY; a sister, Dora Gillum; two brothers, Roger (Faye) Lawson, and Tommy (Augusta) Lawson; four grandchildren, Scott (Tiffany) Felty, Amy Haney (Dave) Henderson, Nikki Lowe (Jimmy) Litteral, and Jessica Lowe (Jordan) Logan; seven great-grandchildren, Carter Wiseman, Hannah Felty, Dawson Felty, Landon Litteral, Savannah Litteral, Cooper Logan, and Leah Logan; and many family and friends to cherish her memories.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Shaun Whitt, minister. Burial will follow at the Cribbs Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dave, Scott, Carter, Jimmy, Jordan, Dawson, Landon, and Cooper.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
