1942-2022
Earl Messer,79, of Grayson, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born June 16, 1942, in Grayson; a son of the late Earl and Maxine Rogers Messer.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Mathew Earl Messer; two sisters, Wilma Jean McDavid and Thelma Jewell Messer.
Earl was a Christian and a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Joy Wanner Messer; two sons, Mark (Mary) Messer, and JR Lambert both of Grayson, KY; three daughters, Connie Hignite, Stephanie (Robert) Rodgers both of Grayson, KY, and Jessica (Joshua) Mullins of Ashland, KY; two sisters, Genell (Dee) McDavid and Kimberly Miller both of Grayson, KY; seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Sparks Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Willie May and Joseph Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Messer -Rogers Cemetery on Huffs Run.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
