Obituary for Douglas Roger Calhoun

Roger Calhoun, 74, of Grayson, passed away early Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 15, 1946, in Grayson; son of the late Lawrence and Opal Burns Calhoun. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Wallace Calhoun, a brother, Jack Calhoun; three grandsons, Tank Jarvis, Teagan Jarvis, and Maverick Jarvis.

Roger was an avid baseball, football and softball fan participating on many levels, playing and coaching. He also enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Steelers. Graduating from Prichard High School, he performed locally with the band "The Explosives." He was the owner of Dugout Video in Grayson and had worked for many years with the Carter County Schools as a bus driver.

He is survived by two sons, Derek Calhoun of Wurtland, KY and Luther (Michelle) Jarvis of Grayson, KY; a grandson, Gunner (Sydney) Jarvis; three great-grandchildren, Maya, Benjamin, and Michael, a nephew, Jack (Nikki) Calhoun, and a great-nephew, Raiden.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Donald Damron, minister.
