Obituary for Sue Riffe

Donna Sue Carroll Riffe

Sue Riffe, 80 of Argillite, KY passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at her residence. She was born November 29, 1941, in Harpster, Ohio a daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Lottie Laura Smith Carroll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry E. Riffe; a brother, James A. Carroll; and a grandson, Patrick Andrew Newland.

Sue was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Crane Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was president of the Oldtown Fire Department Womens Auxillary. Sue was very loved in the community and was called "Granny" by many. She was a graduate of Ashland Community Technical College with the degree of Licensed Practical Nurse, and she worked at King"s Daughters Medical Center for many years.

She is survived by three sons; Kenneth (Betty) Riffe of Oldtown, Michael (Patty) Riffe of Grayson, and Jeff (Jill) Riffe of Argillite; a daughter, Debbie (Russell) Newland of Grayson; a brother, Kenneth (Edna) Carroll Jr. of Raceland; a sister, Sharon Kuck of Cornelius, NC; twelve grandchildren, Kristy Clendenin, James (Penny) Newland, Kenny Riffe Jr., Cindy Riffe, Zachary (Dana) Riffe, Sarah Riffe, Matt (Mindy) Barrett, Joey (Joanie) Barrett, Amber (Drew) Sanders, Stephen (Meghan) Picklesimer, Tyler (Alison) Picklesimer, and Holly Riffe; Twenty-eight great- grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way, and a special "granny's girl", Erica Felty.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 29, 2022, at 1:00 p. m. at the Crane Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Glen Stephenson and Brian Bush, ministers. Burial will follow in the Smith-Claxon Cemetery on Crane Creek.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2022, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, and Friday 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
