Obituary for David Samuel Zornes
David Samuel Zornes, 89, of Grayson, passed away Monday December 19, 2022 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born August 11, 1933 in Carter County; a son of the late Elmer Kenis and Emma Musser Zornes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Paul Zornes; three sisters, Trinnie Thompson, Kathryn Gillium, and Mabel Greene; six brothers, Ollie, Clifford, Bruce, Vernon, Ernie, and Raymond Zornes.
David was a Christian and a member of the Lower Grassy Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of CSX Railroad.
David is survived by his wife, Hazel Rister Zornes; a son, Gary Zornes of Grayson; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Aaron Keeton, minister. Burial will follow in the Horsley Cemetery near Rock Springs.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
