Danny Scott Jessie
1962-2022
Danny Scott Jessie, 59, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, passed away on the evening of January 24, 2022 at the Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Danny was born in Grayson, Kentucky on September 5, 1962, to parents Lucille Lambert Jessie and the late Ray Jessie.
He graduated from East Carter High School in 1980 and worked for Stantec Consulting, an engineering firm in Lexington, for more than thirty years. Danny traveled across the country, working in places such as New Orleans, Oklahoma, and Ohio. When at home, he loved mowing the yard, listening to bluegrass music, watching sports, and drinking Ale-8. He worked hard and loved his family.
Danny is survived by his wife, Tami Ferguson Jessie; his daughter and son-in-law, Teara and Josh Cooley; his granddaughter, Maura Cooley; his mother, Lucille Jessie; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Steve Starkey; and brothers, Hayden and Jeff Jessie. Danny also leaves behind cousins, nieces, great- nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. He is forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
Burial will follow in the Grayson Memorial Park, Ray Simmons, minister.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a. m. until service time at the funeral home.
COVID restrictions and face coverings will be observed indoors.
