Curtis Wesley Bays
1932-2022

Curtis Bays, 90, of Grayson, passed away suddenly at his residence on May 10, 2022. He was born April 10, 1932, on Wilson Creek; a son of the late Hubert and Lorene Bays Throckmorton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Prince Bays, and a son, Anthony Bays.

Curtis proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked and retired from Kentucky Electric Steel, and he had previously served as a board member of the Blue Ribbon Fox Hunters Lodge in Boyd County. He loved deer hunting, raising his garden and mowing the lawn.

He is survived by a son, Jeff (Tonja) Bays of Grayson; two granddaughters, Veronica (Chris) Dartey of Grayson, and Whitney (Matt) Sergent of Boyd County; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 p. m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Tim Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow at the Cribbs Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Kenova American Legion. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Brickey, Mike Meenach, Tim McGlone, Jessie Boggs, Roger Yates, and Chris Dartey.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
