Obituary for Clinton Wayne Stapleton

Clinton W. Stapleton, 89, of Grayson, got to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 12, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 15, 1934, in Carter County; a son of the late C.F. and Edna Adkins Stapleton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Joyce) Stapleton, and a sister and brother-in-law, Francis (Owen) Meenach.

Clinton was of the Christian faith since he was eighteen years old. He and Helen attended several churches in the area throughout their sixty-six year marriage. Clinton retired from Kentucky Electric Steel with thirty-seven years of service.

Clinton leaves behind the love of his life of sixty-six years who he married on October 25, 1956, Helen Mullins Stapleton; three children, Rick Stapleton, Connie (Henry) Sturgill, Keith (Judy) Stapleton; five grandchildren, Selina (Shane ) Bishop, Josh (Tabitha) Kitchen, Luke (Brittany) Stapleton, Brianna (Anthony) Jarrell, Nick (Erin) Stapleton; step-grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Baier, Scott Williams; sixteen great-grandchildren.
He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing. He enjoyed working outside, gardening, and spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home, Josh Marshall, minister. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Five grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Josh Kitchen, Shane Bishop, Tyler Bishop, Luke Stapleton, Nick Stapleton, and son-in-law, Henry Sturgill.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home,
