Obituary for Chester Dean Harper Sr.

Chester Harper, 87, of Grayson passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 3, 1934 in Grayson; a son of the late Ted and Pearl Kitchen Harper.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Harper; two brothers, Bill Harper, and James Porter, and a sister, Pauline Stephens.

Chester was a member of the Carter Christian Holiness Church, and a retired Union Boilermaker.
He is survived by his wife, Minnyann Clark Harper; four sons, John (Robin) Harper, Chester Harper Jr., and Stanley (Angie) Harper all of Grayson, and Daryl (Bambi) Harper, of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Elizabeth Bradley of St. Louis, MO, Rosemary Lee and Bonnie Felty both of Grayson, and Jane (Gary) Tackett of Georgetown, KY; a granddaughter, Missy (Scott) Caudill of Olive Hill; a great-granddaughter, Marissa Caudill; and a great-grandson, Matthew Caudill both of Olive Hill.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Bill Burnett, minister. Masonic services by Willard Lodge F&AM will be prior to services. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, John Harper, Stanley Harper, and Daryl Harper; a granddaughter, Missy Caudill; a great-granddaughter, Marissa Caudill; a great-grandson, Matthew Caudill; a son-in-law, Scott Caudill.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
