Obituary for Barbara Sue Gretchen Colley (Mullins)

Barbara Colley, 78, of Grayson passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She was born October 10, 1942 in Grayson; a daughter of the late Tandy Arthur and Grace Curry Mullins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Robert H. “Bob” Colley; a son, Robert Ernest “Ernie” Colley; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Pinkerman Colley; a granddaughter, Kristen Colley; a grandson, Tandy Colley; two sisters, Mary Parsons, Opel Brammell; two brothers, Kenneth Mullins and James Mullins; a niece, Kenna Smith; a nephew, Don Parsons.

She was a member of Grayson Freewill Baptist Church and retired from King’s Daughters Medical Center after thirty-three years of service. She was also an election poll worker for many years.

She loved cooking for family and friends; she always had a smile on her face and never had anything bad to say about anyone. Her goal in life was to make her family happy no matter what she had to sacrifice herself.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Keith) Parsons of Grayson; three sons, Rick (Sherri) Colley, Randy (Mignon) Colley, and David (Anita) Colley all of Grayson; two sisters, Helen Johnson and Martha (Ed) Price; twelve grandchildren, Bryan (Amy), Tabetha (Mark), Maria (Billy), Amanda (Brian), Josh (Mandy), MaKayla (David), Mayghen (Cameron), Brandy, Brianna (Barry), Jessica, Ethan, and Tara; twenty great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Grace, Holi, Charley, Finn, Lanie, Liam, Jordan, Jazmyn, Braelynn, Brie Anne, Gavin, Emalee, Paxon, Kayden, Garrett, Carlie, Cole, Blaine, Brogan; two great-great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends that will miss her dearly.


Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sparks Funeral Home, Rob Baier minister. Burial will follow in the Kiser-McGinnis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh, Ethan, and Garrett Colley, Billy Ousley, Bryan Parsons, Kevin Mullins, Cameron Bailey, and Barry Shaffer.

Visitation will be Monday, January 11, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Due to the COVID pandemic, face coverings are required and social distancing will be observed.
