Alene Ruth Fraley Halterman
1929-2021
Alene Halterman, 92, of Grayson, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson. She was born June 10, 1929, in Carter County; a daughter of the late Dallas C. and Mary Wilcox Fraley.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Morton Halterman; a daughter, Joyce Leachman; two sisters, Lois Sammons and Lucille Weldy; a brother, Haskell Fraley.
Alene was a member of the Willard Wesleyan Church, wife, mother, and homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Mark (Cheryl) Halterman of Grayson, and James (Amanda) Halterman of Vanceburg, KY; two daughters, Karen (David) Barber of Rush, KY, and Janet (Thomas) Diehl of Palm Harbor, FL; a brother, Wayne Fraley of New Carlisle, OH; a son-in-law, Andy Leachman; two grandchildren, Mark Alan Halterman II and Cassity Leachman, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, burial will follow in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Face coverings are required indoors.
